This is the area we’ve moved into. It’s got a lovely park which overlooks an old brewery and the mountain, plus it’s dotted with gorgeous historic sandstone houses. Our house was built sometime around the 1850’s, it has blue balustrading and several original features. It’s in an ideal location. Five minutes walk up the road is the restaurant strip, and ten minutes in the other direction is the harbour and it’s bars and pubs. It takes me 20 minutes to walk to work, the one thing I insisted must be a possibility should we move here!
Rachael and Richard are two New Zealanders who've upped sticks and moved from New Zealand to Tasmania. They travelled the long route to get there, but now they've arrived they couldn't be happier. It's a beautiful island. Read all about their experience of landing in a whole new place.
