Hamburg

The Reeperbahn is Hamburg’s infamous red light district.  Richard went there regularly, I wasn’t as impressed by it!!

The Port has 22,000 ships passing through it each year and is rather huge.

The “stumbling stones” are little plaques laid outside the houses of Jews that were deported during the war.  If you blink, you’d miss them, but they are a fitting, thoughtful way of paying respect to the victims.

Planten and Blomen (I can’t believe my luck that that is it’s actual name! It translates as Plants and Flowers and makes my caption writing much easier!!) is a large urban park in Hamburg with a huge Japanese Garden in it.
